Dana Brussel is a partner who has been with the firm since 2002. His practice focuses on the mechanical arts and he works with clients in building patent portfolios for their businesses. Mr. Brussel has expertise in all phases of patent prosecution. He also collaborates with the firm’s extensive network of foreign associates to secure international IP protection. His patent practice includes preparing freedom to operate and validity opinions and counseling clients to assess potential acquisitions.

Mr. Brussel served in the Navy for six years aboard a nuclear submarine and coupled that experience with a B.S. from Regents College. He recognized the need to protect people’s intellectual property and that his science background made him well-suited for being a patent attorney. He earned his law degree from St. John’s University School of Law and has since gone on to secure numerous patent rights.

Mr. Brew is equally comfortable with the biotechnology and chemical sectors and the broad applications of these technologies to a number of industries. Mr. Brew has expertise in advising companies involved in mergers and acquisitions and performing due diligence with respect to patents and trademarks and providing related opinions.
