Francesco Sardone is a partner who has been with the firm since 2002. An expert in all aspects of IP law, including U.S. and international patent, trademark and copyright prosecution, Mr. Sardone works with clients who are building portfolios primarily in the mechanical, electromechanical and medical arts, with an emphasis on medical and surgical devices including robotics, as well as, working with clients in the toy and game industries. His practice also includes conducting due diligence investigations, validity studies and clearance searches and preparing freedom-to-practice and validity opinions.

Mr. Sardone developed a fascination with both mechanical processes and being on the front lines of innovation in the realm of patent law. He earned his B.E. in mechanical engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology before pursuing his J.D. at Hofstra University School of Law. After honing his legal skills for a few years, Mr. Sardone was one of the first associates to join the firm.

Mr. Sardone has a unique ability to communicate to a wide range of clients including large entities, small entities and individuals as they look for ways to expand existing product lines and/or gain entry for  new products in the marketplace. He also helps them to build a bridge to sophisticated investors who are building strategic IP portfolios. Dedicated to understanding our clients’ technologies and business needs, Mr. Sardone strives to guide them through the process of securing protection for their innovations and for acquisition of assets. He knows that communication starts with listening and he provides clients with a high level of personal service.  Mr. Sardone conducts due diligence, patent validity and infringement analysis as well as clearance searches and prepares related patent and trademark opinions.
